Japan: Utilities April LNG Usage Up 33.4 Percent

The ten regional electric power companies in Japan consumed 4,556,979 mt of LNG in April, a year-on-year rise of 33.4 percent, according to the Federation of Electric Power Companies of Japan (FEPC).

The power companies received 4,714,972 mt of LNG in April, a rise of 28.9 percent on year.

The companies consumed 5,039,257 mt of LNG in March, a year-on-year rise of 31.8 percent.

Power companies account for two-thirds of total Japanese LNG imports.
