GTT said it will design the tanks for these eight LNG carriers, which will each offer five tanks with a total capacity of 271,000 m3. The tanks will be fitted with the NO96 Super+ membrane containment system developed by GTT.

The delivery is scheduled between the second quarter of 2028 and the fourth quarter of 2029.

To remind, at the beginning of 2024, GTT received two more orders for the tank design of two new LNGCs.

The first LNGC will be realized by the South Korean shipyard Hanwha Ocean, while the second LNGC will be built by the South Korean shipyard Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI).

The two vessels will be built on behalf of a Japanese shipowner, GTT noted.

This year GTT also signed two technical services agreements (TSA) with China-based energy supplier JOVO, with contracts covering GTT’s assistance and operational support for JOVO-operated LNGCs.

Furthermore, GTT and French energy giant TotalEnergies received approval in principle (AiP) for the preliminary design of a 150,000 cbm large-scale LH2 carrier equipped with the GTT containment system.
