DOB-Academy Inks Offshore Wind Education Deals in Japan

Business & Finance

The Dutch DOB-Academy has signed two agreements in Japan for cooperation on offshore wind.

DOB-Academy signed a contract with Nagasaki Marine Industry Cluster Promotion Association (NAMICPA) for an Ocean Human Resources Development Center (OHRDC) in Nagasaki which will organize a new academy to provide education for future local offshore engineers.

Furthermore, the Dutch academy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Technische Universiteit Delft and The Nippon Foundation to establish long-term cooperation for the development of young professionals for the Japanese offshore industry.

Both agreements were signed after the Netherlands Offshore Wind Business Seminar held at the Dutch Embassy in Tokyo.

During the seminar, Sif Group, Royal IHC, IHC IQIP, Van Oord, Shell and Solar Duck gave an update about the latest developments and technologies in the offshore wind industry.

DOB-Academy stated that it will hold the second Ocean Engineering Summer School already this summer, representing a direct result of the agreement.
