This delivery marks the beginning of Malaysia LNG’s, which is a unit of Petronas, supply to Hokkaido Electric via a 10-year deal signed back in March 2017.

Japanese utility Hokkaido Electric will be using the cargo for the commissioning of its LNG tank at the Ishikari LNG import terminal on Hokkaido island, according to a Petronas statement.

The cargo was delivered from Petronas LNG complex in Bintulu to Ishikari by Puteri Delima Satu, the 137,500-cbm LNG vessel chartered by Malaysia LNG and operated by Petronas’ subsidiary MISC, the statement said.
