Exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States rose in the week ending Wednesday, April 4, the Energy Information Administration said in its weekly natural gas report.

Data shows that six vessels, with a total LNG carrying capacity of 21.4 billion cubic feet (Bcf), departed Cheniere’s Sabine Pass export plant in Louisiana.

This is one vessel more compared to the previous week when the plant exported a total of 18.2 billion cubic feet, EIA’s data shows.

In addition, one vessel with a 3.8 bcf transport capacity was loading at the terminal on Wednesday.

Dominion’s Cove Point LNG, the second facility to start liquefying shale gas in the United States, did not dispatch any cargoes during the period. However, LNG carrier Gemmata that lifted the first commissioning cargo from the plant on March 1, docked at the terminal on April 3 to load the second commissioning cargo.

EIA adds that two more vessels, the 173,400-cbm liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker Patris and the 177,000-cbm LNG Sakura are scheduled to dock at the plant on April 9 and April 20, respectively.
