The Peruvian liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility at Pampa Melchorita shipped five cargoes of the fuel in January.

According to the shipping data provided by the state-owned Perupetro, the five vessels in total loaded some 0.34 million tonnes.

Two cargoes were shipped to Japan and Spain, each, while one shipment went to South Korea.

Peru’s LNG export facility shipped 443 vessels in total since it started operations in June 2010.

The 4.45 million tons per year gas liquefaction plant is located 170 kilometers south of Lima and receives gas via a 408-kilometer pipeline built across the Andes.

Peru LNG is owned by a consortium of Hunt Oil Company (50%), SK Energy (20%), Shell (20%), and Marubeni (10%).
