Gallery: Cheniere’s Corpus Christi LNG moving ahead

Cheniere’s Corpus Christi LNG export project is expecting to reach substantial completion on the first liquefaction train in March 2019. 

In its filing with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Cheniere said that in December 2017 the project reached the Stage 1 overall completion of 77.4 percent, slightly behind the plan of 81.8 percent.

Stage 1 engineering and procurement are now 100.0 percent, subcontract and direct hire construction work are 66.2 percent and 59.2 percent complete, respectively, the filing shows.

With the Train 1 substantial completion projected for March 2019, the second train is projecting September 2019 for substantial completion.

Stage 1 construction continued with permanent plant concrete, structural steel, aboveground pipe, electrical, instruments, insulation, equipment installation, east jetty activities and LNG tank A and C activities.

Cheniere notes that during December  Train 2 filter houses and air coolers have been set and the riser erection on flare derrick structure started, as well as the energization of the O&M/control room building and Train 1 LNG compressor substation.

Stage 2 construction mobilized equipment, cleared the Train 3 area, and commenced site work and site drainage activities.

Construction has turned 55 systems over to Startup through the end of December, 3 systems ahead of the scheduled turnover skyline.
