Wison Offshore & Marine signed a memorandum with the Houston-based LNG engineer KBR for cooperation on a 1.5 MPTA floating liquefaction unit in Southeast Asia.

Both parties will associate and collaborate with each other on a mutually exclusive basis for the Papua New Guinea Kumul Petroleum’s FLNG project, Wison said in a statement.

Wison has already completed a performance test for the world’s first barge-based FLNG at its yard in Nantong, the Caribbean FLNG for Belgium’s Exmar.

In August 2017, KBR snatched a contract for Kumul Petroleum’s conceptual development and feasibility study services for an energy hub in the Kikori region of the Gulf Province of Papua New Guinea.
