Under the five-year contract, C-Ventus’s annual scope of work will consist of above and below water inspections and seabed surveys including innovations in the operations & maintenance (O&M) market such as drone inspections or remote and autonomous surveys.

The offshore operations are expected to start by the end of June 2022.

Egmond aan Zee is the Netherlands’ first offshore wind farm, consisting of 36 Vestas V90-3.0 MW wind turbines located 10 to 18 kilometres off the Dutch coast.

The offshore wind farm was opened in 2007 by Dutch King Willem Alexander.

Last year, Shell became the sole owner of the Egmond aan Zee after buying Vattenfall’s stake in NoordzeeWind and picked Vestas and OutSmart to operate and maintain the Egmond aan Zee until the end of project’s life.

C-Ventus said it had been providing BoP maintenance and additional services to NordzeeWind since 2012, with NoordzeeWind being the company’s “launching customer” in the O&M market.
