Peru’s only liquefaction facility at Pampa Melchorita shipped a cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Spain last week.

According to the data provided by the state-owned Perupetro, the cargo was dispatched on March 29.

It was loaded aboard the GasLog-owned, 145,000-cbm Methane Jane Elizabeth that set course for Spain, with Perupetro not revealing the exact destination of the vessel.

However, AIS data provided by the vessels tracking website, MarineTraffic, shows the LNG carrier is expected to dock at the Spanish Bilbao LNG terminal on April 25.

With the latest cargo, Peru’s LNG export facility shipped 390 vessels in total, since it started operations in June 2010.

The 4.45 million tons per year gas liquefaction plant is located 170 kilometers south of Lima and receives gas via a 408-kilometer pipeline built across the Andes.
