Peru’s natural gas liquefaction and export facility at Pampa Melchorita shipped a third consecutive cargo to Spain this week.

According to data released by the state-owned Perupetro, the 160,118-cbm Kita LNG carrier loaded a cargo on October 24 and set course to Spain.

The exact destination of the LNG carrier built in 2014 by the South Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering has not been revealed.

This is the first cargo Kita LNG loaded at the Peruvian facility that has shipped six cargoes in total during October so far. This was also the fourth cargo shipped to Spain during October.

With the latest cargo, Peru’s LNG export facility shipped 360 vessels in total, since it started operations in June 2010.

The 4.45 million tons per year gas liquefaction plant is located 170 kilometers south of Lima and receives gas via a 408-kilometer pipeline built across the Andes.
