Qatar ships LNG cargo to Spain

Qatar, the world’s largest LNG exporter, dispatched a cargo of the chilled gas from Ras Laffan on Monday.

The Al Thakhira LNG tanker, with a capacity of 145,702 cbm, is expected to arrive at the Barcelona LNG terminal on March 22, according to shipping data.

Qatar started exporting LNG in 1997. The country celebrated achieving record 77 Mtpa of LNG production capacity in December of 2010, reconfirming the country’s position as the world’s leading producer of LNG.
