GTT scores LNG tank order from Samsung Heavy

France’s GTT has received an order from the Korean shipyard Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) for the tank design of three new LNG carriers.

The new LNG carriers are for a ship-owner whose name remains undisclosed at this stage.

The vessels will each offer a cargo capacity of 180,000 cubic metres.

GTT will design the tanks and will fit them with its Mark III Flex membrane containment system technology.

The LNGCs will be delivered between the second quarter of 2023 and the first quarter of 2024, reports GTT.
