UPDATE: EmiratesLNG tender results due soon

Project & Tenders

EmiratesLNG said it expects the tender process for the Fujairah LNG import facility to be finalized in early 2015.

This was revealed by Ahmed Matar Al Mazrouei, CEO of EmiratesLNG, at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference.

“Our participation in ADIPEC 2014, comes at a time where we are reviewing tenders for building the Fujairah land-based regasification facility to import LNG. We expect the process to be finalized early in 2015.”

The EmiratesLNG project was launched in response to the growing demand for power, which comes as a direct result of the continual growth of the UAE’s economy.

The company plans to provide the UAE “with an alternative source of clean, affordable and reliable energy which will contribute to the country’s future gas supply and support the nation’s overall growth and development,” according to Al Mazrouei.

Capable of supplying an average of 1.2 Bcf of natural gas per day to the UAE, EmiratesLNG’s regasification terminal will be the Middle East’s largest LNG import facility.

The terminal will be built on the UAE’s East Coast at Fujairah, next to the UAE gas pipeline network in Qidfa.

EmiratesLNG was established in 2012 as a joint venture between Mubadala Petroleum and the International Petroleum Investment Company.
