Drifting fishermen saved by Senshu Maru LNG carrier

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines said that on October 6, the MOL-operated LNG carrier Senshu Maru found drifting castaways in the Celebes Sea off Indonesia, and was able to safely rescue three Indonesian fishermen.

The Senshu Maru, sailing from the port of Bontang, Indonesia, to the port of Sakai-Senboku in Osaka, Japan, found drifting fishermen in the afternoon hours on October 6 after their fishing boat was hit by the wave and sunk, and immediately began the rescue operations.

Fishermen were safely rescued and turned over to the Indonesian Rescue Coordination Center the following day.
