More CNG stations open in USA

Heavy duty fleets’ conversion to cleaner natural gas has provided a push and the need for more CNG fueling stations all over USA and two more of those have been recently opened in Kansas City, Kansas and Kenton, Ohio. 

Kenton, Ohio saw Trillium CNG and Heritage Cooperative hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony  to commemorate the grand opening of a newly constructed compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station as part of Heritage’s $7 million Kenton Agriculture Campus Expansion.

“This is a great partnership with Heritage Cooperative, Precision Strip and the City of Kenton, who all recognize the importance of making CNG available in the Kenton market,” said Charles Koontz, vice president of sales, marketing and engineering for Trillium CNG.

The CNG station is a public access Class-8 fueling station that operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and features Trillium CNG’s proprietary fast-fill hydraulic intensifier to fuel three dedicated CNG dispensers.

Another compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station was opened by Questar Fueling Company, a subsidiary of Questar Corporation, in Kansas City, Kansas.

The public-access station will provide fast-fill CNG fueling for fleet operators with medium- and heavy-duty trucks as well as motorists who drive light-duty natural gas vehicles.

“Natural gas is now helping Kansas and the rest of the country to reduce their dependency on foreign oil,” said former Kansas Gov. Bill Graves, American Trucking Association president.
