EMEC Starts Search for Performance Test Engineer

European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC), a leading test facility for wave and tidal energy converters, is looking for a performance test engineer to deliver its services into collaborative R&D projects, focused on marine energy device testing and performance assessment.

The candidate needs to be educated to degree level in a relevant technical or scientific subject, preferably related to the marine environment or renewable energy.

The performance test engineer needs to have well-developed critical, numerical and analytical skills, the ability to write well for a variety of audiences and have experience of project management and working in ad-hoc teams, EMEC said.

One of the responsibilities will also include the knowledge to develop, maintain and update test software and test equipment which will then be used to gather data in the test location.

Past experience in delivery testing or certification products / reports is desirable but not essential for the position.

The performance test engineer will be based in Orkney, for a fixed term of two years.
