Announcing the contract on Monday, Erria said it has established the “Erria Risk Engineering” division.

The division will act in the tasks for which the company is appointed as marine warranty surveyor (i.e. insurance representative) on behalf of Maersk Drilling and Maersk Drilling’s leading insurers.

According to the company, the marine warranty surveyor function is typically activated during the planning of the relocation operation.

This is so that all relevant matters concerning the drilling rig, the planned location, the tow and/or transport (including nominated tugs and special vessels), and the installation, can be assessed in advance, Erria explained.

The tasks include the marine warranty surveyor function reviewing relevant documentation and providing advice, including pointing out which parts of the relocation task require the marine warranty surveyor’s participation on board and which parts of the operation require special approvals.

In related news, Maersk Drilling revealed on Monday it has won a one-well contract from Petrogas, which will result in reactivation of a currently warm-stacked jack-up rig.
