French marine body seeks tidal farms specialist

Authorities & Government

French national institute dedicated to marine renewable energy research France Energies Marines (FEM) is looking to hire a research engineer specialized in marine renewable energies.

FEM is looking for a research engineer with knowledge of marine renewable energy farms optimization software in order to ensure the development of this expertise through collaborative research projects in a mixed industrial/academic context.

The work will be applied directly to the FEM’s collaborative research and development project VALARRAY, according to FEM.

The project has the objective of running a benchmark of tidal and floating wind farm optimization software/code to identify the gaps between the capabilities of available code against sector needs.

The second phase of the project will be concerned with the specification of a tool-set to be developed/implemented during this phase.

The work is being conducted as part of FEM’s ‘Marine renewable energy (MRE) array layout and network integration’ program.

The deadline to apply for the position has been set for January 8, 2018.
