Shearwater GeoServices lands Bay of Bengal seismic deal

Seismic exploration company Shearwater GeoServices has secured a 3D seismic acquisition contract in India’s Bay of Bengal for oil and gas company Reliance Industries.

The survey is scheduled to commence in first quarter of 2021, according to Shearwater Geoservices.

It will cover 1,500 square kilometres of block KG-UDWHP-2018/1 in the Krishna-Godavari basin, and will be executed by the SW Vespucci.

The contract scope also includes fast-track time processing, Shearwater Geoservices said.

Irene Waage Basili, the CEO of Shearwater GeoServices said: “We are pleased to be awarded this contract by Reliance and add to our backlog for the winter season.
