Business & Finance

Tidal Lagoon Power (TLP) is seeking the services of an experienced hydraulic modeller to support the design for the Tidal Lagoon Swansea Bay proposed powerhouse and sluice gate structures.

The work will involve undertaking computational fluid dynamic (CFD) hydrodynamic modelling and physical hydraulic modelling for the proposed Swansea Bay tidal lagoon, according to the Welsh government’s procurement portal Sell2Wales.

The tendering process will be conducted in two stages involving the requirement that the candidates first pass a selection procedure before being invited to tender or negotiate.

Based on the information submitted, TLP will select parties who will be provided with tender documents for this work, according to Sell2Wales.

The documents will consist of more details on the hydrodynamic modelling scope of work, required deliverables, required programme, and useful information that will assist the selected party undertaking the work.

The total value of the contract is set between £250,000 to £500,000.

The deadline for requests to participate in the tendering process is set for September 30, which be followed by an invitation to tender on October 7, 2016, after TLP’s review.

The estimated award date for the contract is set for November 1, 2016.
