OceanEd to hold two wave energy events in Ireland

Operations & Maintenance

As a result of the stakeholder consultation carried out in 2015 by University College Cork and the Centre for Marine and Renewable Energy (MaREI) in Ireland, OceanEd has organized two wave energy seminars set to take place during this fall.

The first event titled ‘Introduction to Wave Energy’ will cover wave theory and the interpretation of wave resource data.

Also, the attendees will be introduced to wave energy conversion and basic operating principles, with a concluding session that will involve linear tank flume demonstration.

The second event will cover the challenges of wave tank testing by providing the attendees with information regarding the design of test models, and the operational limitations of wave test tanks.

The event will conclude with a tank demonstration session.

Both events will be held as part of Tony Lewis’ Wave Energy Course, and are fee to attend.

The first event will take place on October 17, with the second event scheduled for November 14, 2016 – both to be held at Beaufort Building, Ringaskiddy, Ireland.
