Atlantis Resources has selected AC Marine & Composites to supply the turbine blades for MeyGen tidal turbine.

Following an extensive selection process, which included nineteen of Europe’s leading composites manufacturers, Atlantis Resources selected AC Marine & Composites to manufacture the turbine blades and assist with manufacturing advice during the design phase, AC Marine & Composites informed.

The blades will be used for Atlantis Resources’ AR1500 1.5MW tidal turbine, scheduled for deployment at the MeyGen site in Pentland Firth starting in September.

During the Phase 1A of the recently grid-connected MeyGen project four 1.5MW tidal turbines will be deployed at MeyGen site.

Once fully built, the 398MW MeyGen project is expected to generate enough predictable and emissions free electricity to power 175,000 Scottish homes.

AC Marine & Composites is a UK-based boat builder that specializes in the manufacture of composite components for the marine and renewable energy sectors.
