Samantha Quinn has joined the Oregon-based Northwest National Marine Renewable Energy Center (NNMREC) as the Operations Manager.

The scope of work for which Quinn will be responsible includes planning, management of resources, and follow up of all center activities.

Quinn comes to NNMREC from the University of Edinburgh where she was a research associate looking at policy, innovation and economics of marine energy.

She spent the last two of her four years in Edinburgh as the project manager for the €4.8 million EU-funded DTOcean project, coordinated by University of Edinburgh.

Established in 2008, NNMREC is funded by the US Department of Energy to facilitate the development of marine renewable energy technologies via research, education, and outreach.

University partners include Oregon State University, the University of Washington, and the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
