MERIC, Universidad Austral de Chile and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, are jointly organizing a ‘Second Workshop of Wave & Tidal Energy’.

The organizers of the workshop have invited authors to submit abstracts for presentations for the event.

This year, a special attention is given to R&D breakthroughs that can address risk assessment issues for marine renewable energy projects, from mitigation, evaluation and forecasting, but also original research of different topics related to MRE are also welcome.

The authors are encouraged to submit abstracts for presentations within any of the following themes: impact of marine renewable energy (MRE) devices on marine environment; acceptability of new technologies with adequate social commitments towards stakeholders; good practices on technology development; acoustic and electromagnetic impact of installation of MRE technologies; biogeochemical hazards applied to MRE; effective resource and environment knowledge on MRE; and extreme events assessment and survivability of MRE.

The abstracts submission deadline has been set for September 16, 2016.

The workshop will be held at the Universidad Austral de Chile, Valdivia, on November 16-18, 2016.
