The contract is scheduled to start in December 2020, Eidesvik said in a statement on Wednesday.

The firm contract period is 12 months plus options for extensions.

Jan Fredrik Meling, CEO & President, commented: “We are very pleased that our clients share our dedication to environmental friendly shipping solutions and look forward to provide our services to Wintershall Dea”.

Earlier this year, the PSV Viking Princess was also awarded a contract by ConocoPhillips for the support of two exploration wells in the Norwegian Sea.

The contract was scheduled to start in August 2020.

The first well was on the Warka field, estimated at 85 days. The second well – on Slagugle – was included as an option, estimated at 35 days.

The Viking Princess is a platform supplier built in 2013. The 89,6m long vessel is equipped with a hybrid energy storage solution.
