US DoE calls for MHK engineer

US Department of Energy (DoE) is looking for marine and hydrokinetic (MHK) general engineer who would work with Wind and Water Power Technologies Office.

The Wind and Water Power Technologies Office’s mission is to develop innovative technologies that enable a rapid expansion of electricity generation from wind and water resources for the production of clean, affordable, reliable, domestic energy.

As a technology manager, the selectee will work with the MHK technology development team to provide the overall strategic vision, award execution, and program development and management necessary to maintain a balanced research and development program inclusive of applied research, development, demonstration, and deployment of innovative technologies.

The responsibilities also include managing multiple concurrent research and development projects, evaluating impact of the portfolio, and addressing complex system engineering problems and decisions for a diverse set of technologies and MHK energy resources, namely wave and tidal (ocean and river in-stream) resources.

The deadline for application submission is set for April 20, 2016.
