GE Power Conversion gets new President and CEO

General Electric (GE) has appointed Stephan Reimelt as President and CEO of GE’s Power Conversion business.

As President and CEO of Power Conversion, Stephan Reimelt will oversee global operations and their further expansion, as well as driving commercial growth, GE’s press release reads.

GE’s Power Conversion business operates in 160 locations worldwide, with more than 7,000 employees, and is involved in renewables, including tidal energy, wind and solar sectors.

Mark Begor, GE’s Energy Management President and CEO, said: “Stephan transformed GE in Germany and strengthened GE’s growth strategy and operations in Europe.

“He brings a wide range of industry and entrepreneurial experience to GE. His passion for technology, his global mind-set and customer focus will help GE Power Conversion continue to set the new industry standard.”

Reimelt will be based at the company’s headquarters in Paris.

GE’s Power Conversion business applies the science and systems of power conversion to serve specialized sectors such as energy, marine, industry and all related services.
