Business & Finance

Oregon Wave Energy Trust (OWET) has named Matt Sanders as its Program Director.

As Program Director, Sanders is responsible for the development and execution of OWET’s strategic initiatives designed to reduce barriers to entry and support the responsible development of marine renewable energy projects in Oregon.

He is also the designated Project Manager for OWET’s contracted services, and is experienced in industry outreach and data acquisition, financial modeling, and project oversight, according to OWET.

Sanders received his Master’s in Business Administration with a focus on Sustainability and Renewable Energy from Portland State University in 2012.

During his graduate program, Matt managed the OWET Commercialization Program, connecting early stage wave energy developers with the resources and strategies to move their technology forward.

OWET is a nonprofit, public-private partnership that aims to responsibly develop ocean energy by connecting stakeholders, supporting research and development, and engage in public outreach and policy work.
