DECC: Share of renewables reaches 22 percent in 2014 Q4

UK Department of Energy & Climate Change has released energy statistics report for the 3 month period from December 2014 to February 2015, with comparison to the same period a year earlier.

Electricity generated in the fourth quarter of 2014 fell by 5.3 percent, from 93.9 TW/h a year earlier to 89.0 TW/h.

The share of renewables (including tidal and wave) in electricity generation increased from 17.9 percent in the fourth quarter of 2013 to a record 22.0 percent in the fourth quarter of 2014.

Final consumption of electricity fell by 3.4 percent in 2014 Q4, from 82.6 TW/h in 2013 Q4, to 79.8 TW/h.
