Strainstall to design monitoring system for WaveSub

Strainstall has been selected to provide a monitoring package to support the prototype testing of Marine Power Systems’ WaveSub wave energy device.

The design and deployment of sensors, coupled with monitoring system is expected to deliver an integrated solution to provide performance information.

Phase one of the monitoring solution will apply Strainstall’s data acquisition system and expertise in data processing and analytics.

Future phases will involve further installations and commissioning as well as providing support where needed in all aspects of monitoring expertise, Strainstall’s press release reads.

WaveSub will be tested at FaBTest, a test area situated 2.8 km2 within Falmouth harbour.

Marine Power Systems (MPS) is Swansea-based wave energy developer founded in 2009 with the purpose of developing and commercializing its WaveSub wave energy converter technology.

Strainstall, part of the James Fisher and Sons group, is an engineering company working in all areas of monitoring and sensor based technology.
