Beach replenishment operations, undertaken as a part of the ongoing restoration efforts in the San Elijo Lagoon, are now underway at the Fletcher Cove in Solana Beach, reports Build NCC.

The City of Solana Beach confirmed yesterday that the sand pumping operations began Saturday, April 28th and are anticipated to take approximately four weeks to complete.

During the works, crews will be pumping beach quality sand onto Fletcher Cove Beach located along South Sierra Avenue in the City of Solana Beach.

Beach replenishment operations will take place 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Crews will pump 146,000 cubic yards of sand from the lagoon and place it on Fletcher Cove Beach, continuing the process of replenishing a portion of the North County shoreline,” the City said.

The city also added that during the beach replenishment, beach-goers can expect limited access around work areas and nearby residents and businesses can expect intermittent noise and lights.
