The monopiles, manufactured by EEW Special Pipe Constructions, will be transported floating from Rostock, Germany, to the project site. The transition pieces are produced by Bladt Industries in Aalborg, Denmark.

Van Oord’s subsea rock installation vessel Bravenes started the installation of the seabed protection in April.

To remind, at the end of 2018, the Dutch company secured a contract with Vattenfall for the transport and installation of the 72 monopile foundations in the Baltic Sea some 40km from the coast.

The 605 MW Kriegers Flak project, which will feature Siemens Gamesa 8.4 MW turbines, will be Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm when fully operational in 2021.
