Webinar on ocean energy progress in Europe

ETIP Ocean and OceanSET are hosting a webinar on 7 May 2020 to provide an update on the ocean energy sector.

The OceanSET project provides support to ocean energy implementation in order to achieve the SET Plan targets.

It also helps to paint a clear picture of the ocean energy sector’s development across Europe.

As a result, this webinar will deliver an update, based on recent information on costs, technologies, revenue support and other facts across European countries as presented in the first annual report produced by the OceanSET project.

The European Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan) aims to accelerate the development and deployment of low-carbon technologies.

It seeks to improve new technologies and bring down costs by coordinating national research efforts and helping to finance projects.

In this framework, an implementation working group has managed the SET Plan IP for ocean energy since March 2018.

This group is composed of representatives from the European Commission, Member States, Regions and other stakeholders.

To date it has focused on the development of research and roadmaps which have set out the aspirations of wave and also tidal sector.
