UK: Chinese to Increase Offshore Wind Investment

A joint initiative by Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex counties to work with China in order to create more jobs by making new export and inward investment opportunities brought a key visit by a Chinese delegation of world-leading manufacturers of wind farm equipment.

The multi-million pound investors from the Jiangsu Province are looking to invest in the production of the equipment along the East of England Energy Zone, but are also seeking opportunities for UK businesses to support developments in China, the EADT24 news portal reports.

Namely, the area has the second largest concentration of offshore wind farms in the world and over 40 years of experience in offshore energy production. It is predicted that the east of England’s offshore wind will be worth GBP 23 billion and will create tens of thousands of new working positions.
