Energy Drilling said on Sunday that its EDrill tender assist rig had completed the lift on Friday, 10 April, as part of a contract with Indonesia’s Medco Energi.

The rig mobilised from Singapore on 25 March, for the 2+3 wells contract over four platforms which is estimated to last until the end of the year.

The company added that the rig crew had completed the heavy lifting safely in “challenging conditions” due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Marcus Chew, the CEO of Energy Drilling, said: “These are no ordinary days, every aspect from crew change to logistics poses serious challenges and I can’t thank the team enough for their dedication and determination to get the job done safely. We are also thankful for the co-operation and understanding from Medco in this difficult period”.

As for the Kerisi platform, it is located on the namesake field in Block B in the South Natuna Sea. The field was discovered in 1990.
