PGS in Guyana Shoot for CGX Energy

Business & Finance

Canadian-based oil and gas exploration company CGX Energy has executed a contract with PGS for a 3D seismic survey of the Corentyne Block offshore Guyana.

PGS will provide acquisition and processing of seismic data covering approximately 582 square kilometers of the northern portion of the Corentyne Block.

CGX Resources Inc. (CRI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of CGX Energy is the operator of the Corentyne Block under a joint operating agreement with Frontera Energy Guyana Corp (FEGC).

The survey is expected to begin in mid-October 2019 and be completed by November 27, 2019.

This is in line with CRI’s resequenced workplan on the Corentyne Block, which requires CRI to complete a seismic survey by November 27th 2019 and the drilling of an exploration well by November 2020.

PGS plans to use a Ramform Titan-class seismic vessel to complete the acquisition with GeoStreamer acquisition technology.
