Transmission Capital Partners Preferred Bidder for Rampion OFTO

International Public Partnerships Limited (INPP) has informed that Transmission Capital Partners, the consortium comprising INPP, Amber Infrastructure and Transmission Investment, has been appointed as preferred bidder for the long-term license and operation of a further offshore transmission project (OFTO).

The latest scheme, comprising the transmission cable connection to Rampion offshore wind farm represents the eighth such project that Transmission Capital Partners has been appointed to, as preferred bidder.

The company expects to invest circa £35-45 million, with financial close estimated in the first half year of 2020.

The project relates to the transmission cable connection to the offshore wind farm located 13km off the Sussex coast.

The wind farm consists of 116 x 3.45MW wind turbine generators with an installed capacity of 400MW connected to the offshore substation platform (OSP) located within the boundaries of the Rampion wind farm.

Rampion OFTO will transmit green electricity equivalent to around 350,000 UK homes, increasing the number of homes that are powered by the company’s OFTO portfolio to approximately 1.6 million homes.

The offshore wind farm connected by this transmission project is owned by E.ON (50.1%), Green Investment Group (25%) and Enbridge (24.9%).
