Business & Finance

Tekmar Energy and Subsea Innovation have signed a strategic collaborations agreement to collaborate in sales, product development and strategic initiatives towards cost and risk reduction in both OWF cabling equipment and O&G SURF and pipeline ancillaries.

Namely, the new deal should see the two companies working together to develop new solutions for: Offshore cable and SURF installation equipment. (Structural equipment); Advanced pipeline repair systems and subsea sealing solutions. (EPRC and J-tube seals);  SURF and cable protection solutions. (Bend restrictors and hang-off systems); Bespoke tooling for offshore installations. (wxcavation, burial, deployment and cutting).

James Ritchie, CEO Tekmar Group, said: “Both sectors now face the same key challenge in price pressure and need to see cost and risk reduction to ensure sustainable demand. Within offshore wind we intend to leverage our customer and cabling experience with Subsea Inovations to develop new tools and equipment to support this challenge.”

Dave Thompson, MD Subsea Innovation, said: “Working with Tekmar to strategically develop new products and services for clients in these challenging times is the right collaboration needed to ensure value within the supply chain. The team at Subsea Innovations have a wealth of offshore and subsea engineering experience that can be utilised to give Tekmar the opportunity to sell innovative technologies to both sectors.”
