Subcon Nets Black Sea and Woodside Contracts

Business & Finance

Subcon Europe has been awarded a contract for the supply of over 1000 CoastMatts to an undisclosed client in the Black Sea.

The mattresses are to be used for scour protection.

According to the company, the project is well underway, being 30% complete with production rates of 18 mattresses per day being produced in-country.

Subcon Europe general manager, Vic Bauwens, said: “The award of this project builds on the recent success we’ve experienced in Brighton Marina and reflects the continuing hard work that the team at Subcon puts into their product development and value proposition to their clients. It demonstrates Subcon’s capability to supply our clients with products built to our high quality standards by deploying our manufacturing processes, materials and installation aids to international locations such as the Black Sea”.

In addition, Subcon has also been awarded a contract by Australian oil and gas exploration and production company Woodside for the supply of frond mattresses for freespan correction.

frondSubcon’s managing director, Matthew Allen, said: “At Subcon we’ve been developing solutions that aim to change the conversation around freespan correction. Our AAS Frond Mattresses mean our clients can survey and rapidly rectify low height spans as they go, rather than having to conduct expensive analysis and remobilise the vessel. Our AAS demonstrates our commitment to developing systems that reduce the cost of installation which is vital in the current low oil environment. Our engineers are continually finding better ways to support our clients in their IRM programs and we’re very proud to be supported by Woodside who continue to show their commitment to local innovation and jobs through this contract award.”
