Kleven Delivers Edda Freya to Østensjø Rederi

Subsea construction vessel, Edda Freya, was formally delivered to Østensjø Rederi from Kleven shipyard on Wednesday, May 25.

Edda Freya was designed by Salt Ship Design (304 OCV) in cooperation with Østensjø Rederi and DeepOcean.

The vessel is equipped with a 150 tons dual tensioner vertical lay system (VLS) located in the moon pool, a 3000 tons carousel below deck and a 400 tons active heave compensated (AHC) knuckle boom main crane that can lift 600 tons in double fall mode.

With a length of 149.8 metres, a width of 27 metres and 2300 square metres of total deck space the vessel is expected to boost DeepOcean’s competitiveness in the offshore construction market.

Edda Freya was launched on Saturday August 15, 2015. The vessel was formally given its name by godmother Kjersti Bårdsen on April 15, 2016.
