PHOTO: Ramform Tethys Joins PGS

The third of four Ramform Titan-class vessels, the Ramform Tethys, was named at the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Shipbuilding yard in Nagasaki, Japan on Thursday.

The Ramform Tethys was delivered to PGS yesterday, March 16, and follows two first Ramform Titan-class vessels delivered to the Norwegian seismic contractor in 2013 and 2014, the Ramform Titan and the Ramform Atlas.

The fourth vessel Ramform Hyperion is due in a year’s time.

According to PGS, the Ramform Tethys sets the new standard for seismic operations for the next 25 years.

The Ramform Tethys is the most powerful and efficient marine seismic acquisition vessel in the world, and along with the Ramform Titan and Ramform Atlas, the widest ships ever at the waterline.
