Subsea World News has put together a recap of the most interesting articles from the previous week (May 25 – May 31).

OneSubsea, a Cameron and Schlumberger company, has been awarded a subsea production systems contract totaling more than $330 million for a gas project offshore North Africa.

Under the new contract, the scope of supply for the 13-well development includes subsea production equipment, tooling, and installation and commissioning services. According to the company,deliveries are expected to begin in Q3 2016.

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana announced that Race Addington, 49, of Houston, was sentenced for making false statements to agencies or departments of the United States in relation to the veracity of blowout preventer testing on an offshore oil and gas platform in the Gulf of Mexico.

U.S. District Judge Helen G. Berrigan sentenced Addington to one year probation and 40 hours of community service.

Fugro has been awarded a three-year extension to its existing contracts with engineering and construction company, McDermott Middle East.

The extension is for the provision of survey, positioning, remotely operated vehicle (ROV) and diving services in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, India and Saudi Arabia.

GC Rieber Shipping has entered into an agreement to sell its multi-functional DP2 construction support vessel CSV Polar Prince.

The vessel is designed in-house and was built by the Norwegian Flekkefjord Yard in 1999. The 94 meters long vessel has since its delivery been used for inspection, maintenance and repair duties (IMR) on subsea installations.

DeepOcean has been awarded an Inspection, Maintenance and Repair (IMR) contract by GDF SUEZ E&P Norge.

The four year contract covers all ROV based IMR work for GDF SUEZ on Gjøa field and the associated subsea assets. DeepOcean will use vessels from its North Sea based fleet for work under this contract.
