Rigmar Moves to New Headquarters

International provider of support services, Rigmar, has moved from its office and warehousing on Greenwell Road, Tullos, to a new HQ on Hareness Circle, Altens, as it announces contract wins totaling £6 million.

Formerly the Transocean Training Centre, the new office block is set to accommodate the companies growing team, which has doubled year on year since Rigmar formed in 2007.

Rigmar has recently been awarded two key contracts. The first, awarded by Transocean, will see the project services company carry out a Special Periodic Survey (SPS) on the Amirante semi-submersible in Malta and the second of the 2 contracts will be upgrade works on the Songa Dee in Invergordon.

Robert Dalziel, Managing Director, said: “Rigmar has achieved great success since it launched in 2007, increasing its turnover to £10 million by 2012, and to more than £30 million in 2013. Mid year forecast has us on track for hitting our target, improving on last year’s impressive turnover, and with new contracts being awarded, opportunities presenting themselves every day as well as an expanding order book to take us up to the end of the year, we are feeling extremely positive about the future.

“We also feel extremely encouraged that our multi-million expansion across Invergordon, Dundee and Aberdeen has been well placed, having secured these new contracts with Transocean and Songa. The move into the new Aberdeen HQ is a key milestone that signals our success; Aberdeen is where it all started so it’s easier to draw parallels and with a more productive office layout we can see how robust our team is thanks to recent restructuring.”

Rigmar recently segmented its service into market specific business units and specialist service divisions, as part of its plans to create project solutions built around the needs of the individual customer quickly and efficiently.

Rigmar has bolstered its inspection department with the appointment of Steven Henderson as inspection manager. Steven brings over 20 years expertise to the role within the oil and gas industry, specialising in services including non-destructive testing and inspection, lifting and testing services, specialist access, mechanical and bolting, fabric maintenance, light construction, repairs and modifications.

Brian Leiper has been appointed Group Commercial Manager and will work to ensure there is a smooth interface between client requirements and compliant tenders.  After 23 years in the building industry, Brian made the move to oil and gas a few years ago bringing with him robust experience in improving value and driving operational efficiency. He achieves this by eliminating waste, managing risk and identifying value opportunities, whilst ensuring that strong processes and procedures remain in place.

John Diack joined the Rigmar team as accommodation manager.  John, who has many years experience in providing accommodation solutions to the oil and gas industry, heads up a team of engineers who provide a range of offshore accommodation solutions and maintenance programmes.

Finally Kevan Sturrock has joined the company as group financial director. Kevan, a chartered accountant, began his career at Johnston Carmichael before joining the oil and gas sector in 1989. Kevan’s role within Rigmar is to lead and support the finance team to ensure they support the organisation with timely and accurate financial information in order to provide a solid base for any business decisions.
