Fluke Engenharia Receives New Suction Pile Contract from Subsea 7 Offshore Brazil

Fluke Engenharia, an Acteon company, has won a new contract from Subsea 7 to fabricate 27 suction piles for use in the Guará–Lula field, which is part of the pre-salt cluster in the Santos basin, offshore Brazil.

Fluke Engenharia will manufacture the products at its Macaé facilities and will deliver them over the course of 2012. This is one of the most significant non-Petrobras contracts Fluke Engenharia has won to date, and it highlights the growing demand for the company’s services from subsea contractors and international oil companies alike.

Laurent Maubré, managing director, Fluke Engenharia, described the contract win as an important step forward. “This reinforces our position as the main provider of subsea anchoring systems in the Brazilian market. We deliver our products and services with 100 percent local content. Customers appreciate this and see how they can benefit from our expertise in rolling and welding heavy pipes. The basis of our success is the high quality we achieve by meeting or exceeding the standards set by the main classifying entities.”

“As a local contractor for the fabrication of high-quality subsea mooring products for the Brazilian oil and gas industry, Fluke Engenharia is proud to be a partner to one of the most important engineering, procurement and construction contractors in the pre-salt cluster.”
