OOS International said last week that the onshore and offshore management teams of OOS Energy Rig Management took over management of the rig on November 7.

The company added that the office management and crew started preparing the rig for its voyage to Mexico following the handover.

The preparation included the finalization of all required documentation and certification in accordance with the interim audits which were conducted and successfully passed.

According to OOS, the ODN Delba III departed Guanabara Bay on Saturday, November 9, for work on a project in Mexico.

A Monday report from Norwegian rig brokerage firm Bassoe Offshore stated that the OOS had acquired the ODN Delba III in cooperation with a banking consortium. According to Bassoe, the rig will work for Mexican oil and gas company Pemex.

The contract for the ODN Delba III is scheduled to begin on May 1, 2020. The rig will work for Pemex for three years (1,095 days) on a dayrate of $145,000.

The rig, built by International Management & Construction Corporation (IMCC) in 2011, is capable of drilling at a depth of 2,400 meters.

Following the sale of the ODN Delba III, Ocyan owns five deepwater rigs, four of which are drillships and one semi-submersible. All of the rigs are chartered to Brazilian oil major Petrobras.

OOS Energy is also the manager of the OOS Tiger 1 drillship, which was also awarded a contract with Mexico’s Pemex back in September 2018.
