Offshore Marine Academy Moves to Teesside

Human Capital

Offshore Marine Academy (OMA) has relocated and opened a new operating base at the Wynyard Business Park, Teesside, in the heart of North East England.

Offshore Marine Academy Moves to TeessideOMA has been based in Bristol since 2010 but is moving north to support the growing number of renewables companies that are established in the area. In recent years the North East has become the unofficial home of offshore renewables companies and OMA’s training offering will help to support this by catering for both individuals and companies. The announcement of new renewables facilities in the north east, made so far this year alone, will create 1000 new jobs. This relocation enables OMA to more effectively address the offshore industry’s skills and knowledge gap.

Antony Lewis, Business Manager at OMA, said: “Having a presence in North East of England gives us easier access to the individuals and renewables companies that require our services, such as organisations that support offshore projects. It is exciting to see the opportunity that is in front of us, and the team and I are looking forward to supporting continued growth of the industry while ensuring the highest safety standards.”
