Ampelmann said on Friday that an A-type gangway system had been mobilized on the Harvey Blue Sea vessel and would operate for 120 days.

Gus DeOliveira, Americas sales lead at Ampelmann, said: “We are very excited about this collaboration with Harvey Gulf, as this is the first time we are working with one of the prestigious U.S. vessel owners.”

The A-type is used for personnel transfer from a vessel to a fixed or floating offshore asset in high sea states. To date, the system has enabled the safe transfer of more than 3.4 million people as well as 200 projects globally.

For this campaign, which started in mid-April, the A-type was installed on an Ampelmann ten-meter pedestal, making it possible to reach landing locations of 20 meters and higher.

Shane J. Guidry, CEO of Harvey Gulf, added: “We are pleased to have formed a partnership with Ampelmann, as this relationship will continue to broaden the services that Harvey’s construction vessels already provide. Today, we jointly have work bid throughout the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, Guyana, and West Africa and we look forward to providing safe excellent service to all our clients globally.”

The company recently secured its first contract in Mexican waters, where another A-type system is enabling the installation of an oil and gas platform. As for other locations in the Americas, it is also operating in Trinidad and Tobago, Brazil, and Venezuela as well.
