ROVOP said on Monday that it named David Lamont as the company’s non-executive director.

Lamont has over 35 years of industry experience in the oil and gas sector. After starting his career at Schlumberger where he worked for 18 years, he has held a number of senior management roles, most recently as the CEO of global energy services company Proserv.

According to the company, his appointment is in line with ROVOP’s business and growth strategy of providing a focused ROV service to its customers in all markets and geographies.

ROVOP CEO, Steven Gray, said: “David is a highly respected figure in the international oil and gas industry. He joins us at an exciting time of growth, and we are in no doubt that his dynamism and experience in growing businesses in the subsea sector will prove invaluable.”

It is worth noting that the company recently expanded its ROV fleet with 19 additional vessels, which brings the total operational fleet to 51. Namely, ROVOP in October decided to buy the entire fleet of 28 ROV systems from M² Subsea. Following a technical review, 19 of these systems meet the ROVOP standard and were added to its fleet, with the remaining ROVs either being decommissioned or sold.

Earlier this month, ROVOP expanded in the Middle East with a new base in the region.
