Neptune said on Friday that Pete Jones was named the UK managing director. Also, Bruce Webb was appointed to the global position of vice president of operations while Andrea Guerra was named as the corporate vice president of reservoir engineering.

As the UK managing director, Jones will be based in Aberdeen. Most recently, Jones held the position of managing director of Taqa Europe.

He has over 25 years of international experience in the upstream oil and gas sector. Jones spent the majority of his career with Marathon Oil where he held a number of senior managerial positions, including UK managing director and regional vice president.

Ian Conacher, the current UK country director in Neptune, will continue to work within the company, initially assisting Jones and then focussing on business transformation objectives.

Bruce Webb will take up the position of operations VP later this month. He most recently worked with DNO, where he held the position of chief operating officer, based in Dubai. He has over 25 years of experience, the majority of which was gained at BP.

He started his career downstream with BP at Grangemouth Refinery and moved into upstream activities where he has gained experience in the North Sea, Middle East, North Africa, West Africa, South East Asia, and North America.

Andrea Guerra will also join Neptune later in August and will relocate from Houston to take up her new position. She joins from Apache where she started her career following the completion of her MSc in Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University. Most recently Guerra held the position of corporate manager of reserves and economics.

Jim House, CEO of Neptune Energy Group, said: “They all have an outstanding track record in their field and speak clearly to our values. I am confident that each one of these new leaders will play a major part in shaping the next exciting phase of Neptune’s strategy to become a leading international independent E&P Company.”

As for recent appointments, Neptune appointed David Hemmings to the position of vice president of business development in mid-June.
